Competitive and Growth Teams
Competitive and Growth Teams
Coaching: Played Competitive D1 Basketball. Built undefeated teams.
Emphasis on strong fundamentals, including ball handling, shooting, and understanding game strategy.
The team maintains a small roster, fostering excellent team chemistry and a strong sense of community.
An emphasis on hard work in a positive yet firm environment empowers players to up level their skills and realize they are capable of demanding more.
The team prioritizes team play and basketball IQ, focusing on collective success over individual scoring, strong fundamentals, significant seasonal growth, camaraderie, and ample in-game playtime for all players.
We intentionally maintain a small roster of 8 to 10 players to increase individual playing time, in contrast to other teams that may have 12 to 15 players at any given time. The coach prioritizes starting players who demonstrate commitment by regularly attending practices.
It starts with the fundamentals, such as layups, dribbling, passing, 1v1, and 2v1 defensive skills. It then moves on to team play, including offensive sets and three-on-three, usually incorporating some form of friendly competition (for instance, the "winning" team may not have to do push-ups or liners). The session concludes with scrimmages, accompanied by guided game strategies and specific technical advice for individuals.
Yes, we participate in local South Bay AAU as well as local NJB leagues year-round.
Fall Season 2024: September 1 - November 30

NJB: According to NJB schedule, it is usually Sundays.
The team has been together since 2019.
There is a strong emphasis on training fearlessness in competition, and for kids to realize that the Coach will set players sites on the stars so they can land on the moon. He has a special focus on defense and hustle. This is a highly intelligent group of kids who understand how to add value to the game. Team chemistry is a significant asset. The coach prioritizes adding team players who are coachable and has successfully led this age group into middle school leagues, winning championships.
We require a 6 month commitment for continuity and step function growth. SV Coyotes Elite has won AAU tournaments, beating out very well-branded and well-funded youth basketball organizations.

Coach Yannick Atanga is a former NCAA D1 basketball player holding some all-time records.
He's passionate about helping kids grow into the mental and physical intensity demanded of basketball by refining their skills, their overall "toughness" in the game and improving basketball IQ. His coaching style is firm, demand, and very committed to the players and teams he selects.
Yannick holds an impressive track record professionally and as a coach. He has transformed middle school teams from losing games to becoming undefeated in winning championships year after year. Almost all of his players have been selected to play in Varsity teams at their schools.
As an orphan from the Cameroon, Yannick earned multiple full ride scholarships to college and has the connections to college and NBA scouts. Yannick's passion for the game also has a global focus, he created a non-profit impact.org to bring Cameroonians to be recruited with full-ride scholarships to both high school and D1 basketball college teams.
